Daily Devotional: When You Feel Tired, Look to Jesus
His presence refreshes us in ways that a nap or a day off never could.
I’m Aaron Joseph Hall, a pastor in Lower Alabama. Mark Batterson once said, ‘I do not type on a keyboard. I worship God with the 26 letters of the English alphabet.’ That’s what I’m doing here—worshiping God through the words I write. Every post is an act of worship, every sentence written for His glory. My desire is to be obedient each day to whatever God has called me to do. I’d love for you to join me on this journey.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
As a parent, I often find myself saying, “I’m tired” a lot more than I thought I would. I’m a father of four energetic boys, all under the age of 10. Our house is anything but quiet during the day. Matthew 11:28 has a whole new meaning in my life as a dad—I often find myself weary and in need of rest. The kind of rest that can only come from time with Jesus.
This isn’t just about physical rest—it’s soul rest. Jesus offers a peace that quiets the noise inside, even when life outside is loud and chaotic. When we bring Him our exhaustion, He doesn’t just give us a break; He gives us Himself.
His presence refreshes us in ways that a nap or a day off never could.
So today, if you’re feeling the weight of life—whether from parenting, work, or simply the demands of the day—hear His invitation. You don’t have to carry it alone. Come to Him. Sit with Him. Breathe in His peace. Let Him give you rest that truly restores.
Prayer:
Jesus, I bring You my tiredness, my worries, and my burdens. Thank You for inviting me to come close and find rest in You. Refresh my soul today. Amen.

That was such a beautiful devotional, brother 🙏 It’s so true our strength runs out quickly, but the Lord never grows weary Isaiah 40:29-31 reminds us He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint I really felt encouraged by your reminder that Jesus doesn’t just give us a break, He gives us Himself That’s powerful. Psalm 62:1 says Truly my soul finds rest in God my salvation comes from him No nap or vacation can do what His presence doesbit brings deep, lasting rest for the soul Thank you for sharing this. May we all learn daily to bring our burdens to Him and experience His peace that surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7). 🌿
